Myrna L. Galligano is a part-time Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where she teaches various areas of employment law in connection with the NSU Masters in Employment Law Program. On a full-time basis, Myrna is a solo practice attorney with MG Services LLC in the area of employment law representing employers during investigations and charge procedures before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations. Additionally, she provides a variety of legal services for employers including counsel on employment matters, managerial training on employment law, non-managerial training on workplace harassment, review of policies and procedures, preparation and review of employee handbooks, conducting internal investigations, and dispute resolution of employment matters through mediation.
Myrna was formerly with several law firms representing employers in Texas and Florida. She worked for Neel, Hooper in Houston, Texas, and Garwood McKenna McKenna & Wolf, as well as Holland & Knight LLP, in Florida. At these firms she provided full employment law counsel to clients, and at Holland & Knight, she developed and provided a client training program for managers on employment law and workplace harassment training for non-managers. A former human resource professional, Myrna is a past vice president (2000) and past president (2001) of the Space Coast Human Resource Association and currently serves as Legislative Chair. She is also a member of the South Brevard Society for Human Resource Management. She served on the HR Florida State Council as the co-chair (Federal) for Governmental Affairs (2007). She spoke at both the Society for Human Resource Management national conference and HR Florida State Conference (2005).
As an adjunct professor at several Florida colleges for the past 10 years, Myrna has taught employment law, diversity and legal ethics in business. Additionally, she has presented at numerous seminars and conferences nationwide on a variety of employment law topics.
After receiving her B.A. in Business Management (magna cum laude) in 1988 and her J.D. in 1991 from the University of Houston, she was admitted to the Texas bar in 1991 (currently on inactive status) and to the Florida bar in 1993.
Myrna has 10 years of experience as a Florida Certified Mediator and was named Mediator of the Year in 2003 by the Brevard County Criminal Justice Services. She is also a Florida arbitrator.
