2005 Jessup Team
Earns Honorable Mention at Regional Competition!!!
TUSCALOOSA, AL- The 2005 Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center Jessup International Law Moot Court Team won an Honorable Mention for its Memorial at the South-Central Regional Competition, held February 23-26, 2005, at the University of Alabama School of Law. NSU’s team competed well, defeating Florida State and St. Thomas while falling to Tulane and eventual regional runner up & past world champion, Georgia. Team members included Russell Dombrow, Jennifer Duval, James Slabaugh, and Alfredo Tamayo.
The Memorial in the Jessup Moot Court Competition is the equivalent of a written brief in most other moot court competitions. This year’s regional winner was the University of Alabama, and the Best Memorial went to Stetson. NSU finished 5th out of 12 teams competing in the region.
Special thanks go out to Coaches Jesse Berger and Jacqueline Post, who worked very hard to prepare the team for competition, and to Professor Shu-Acquaye, whose knowledge, experience, and wisdom was invaluable. The team would also like to thank Professors Cerminara, Cross, Dale, Jarvis, and Wilets, all of whom gave time to assisting us with the preparation of our oral arguments.
Congratulations to the 2005-06 Jessup International Law Moot Court Team!
