It was the lead story on the 11pm news on April 1, 2008. The Florida Senate passed a bill compensating him in the amount of $1.25 million dollars for the time he spent wrongfully incarcerated two days later. Governor Crist has since signed the bill into law. Mr. Crotzer contends that nothing can give him those 24.5 years back, but money is a tool to help him rebuild his life and enjoy what he has left. He is active in exoneree organizations and in parting asked Nova Law Students to remember that “there are a lot more Alan Crotzers [in jail].” |
