National ATLA is the world's largest trial bar composed of attorneys, law professors, paralegals, and law students. ATLA promotes justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims' rights--particularly the right to trial by jury--and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and safety. ATLA provides lawyers
with the information and professional assistance needed to serve clients successfully and protect the democratic values inherent in the civil justice system.
ATLA offers a number of different memberships. Available to all of us is the Student Membership. Upon graduation, each student will be eligible for the Law Graduate Membership for up to one year. Joining ATLA in Law School is the first step to a career long affiliation with one of the best organizations an attorney can be a part of!
The student chapter of ATLA is responsible for organizing mock trial competitions for students to learn and practice their trial skills. ATLA sponsors at least three (3) in-house competitions during the school year and also sends students away to compete in state wide and national competitions. We also provide a variety of resources for students to learn and
train themselves in the practice of trial practice – including, but not limited to, lunch and learns with local attorneys, CLE seminars, and videos.
