Hurricane information

As each hurricane is different, we will monitor approaching storms carefully and notify students of any closures. Please contact the Program Office if you should have any questions.

In the event of loss of power due to a tropical depression, storm or hurricane, a student should call the Program Office as soon as possible by calling (954) 262-6161 or 1-800-541-6682, extension 26161 and provide your name, NSU ID number, program of study and contact number. If necessary, the Program Office will contact you with directions on how to complete your coursework until power is restored.

If the RI must be canceled due to a hurricane, The RI sessions will be made up online or during a 1 day optional RI. Please see below for sessions that will be offered online. We will also offer an optional 1 day RI within 1 month of the cancelled RI for those that can attend. Students will be required to attend all sessions either in person at the optional RI or online during the make-up sessions.

IRP graduating students will be required to present their projects via Blackboard/Live Classroom for their professors, consultant and the other students in their course. There will be an optional 1 day RI planned within 1 month of the cancelled RI and students may attend the 1 day make-up RI instead of the sessions online. Not all RI sessions will be offered during this 1 day make-up, those that are not offered during the day session will be held online and will be mandatory.

Again, each storm is different and we will make decisions as quickly as we can based on the information we receive. It will be the student's responsibility to check the website, listserv and our program office phone for updated information.
