Spam: Adjusting Your Splog Settings
We’ve all been bothered by those pesky emails, asking us to refinance, get a diploma, or buy prescription drugs over the Internet. While nothing provides full proof relief, there are some things you can do to help save yourself from spam, phising, and other email annoyances.
Make sure that you do your McAfee Virus and Microsoft Windows/Office updates weekly
Use the University’s Splog adjuster to adjust your spam settings. By adjusting your Splog settings, you can increase of decrease the amount of spam that comes through You can allow or disallow email from specific address.
To adjust your Splog settings, do the following:
Step 1 : Open your Internet browser to http://splog.nova.edu
Step 2: Select and click on log in.

Step 3: Next put in your Law Center user name and password in the text box requested. Make sure that you use the pull down tab, located next to your user name, and select @nsu.law.nova.edu

Step 4: At the next screen, select and click on User Preferences. You will then be given the option of adjusting either upwards or downwards your preference for your splog settings. If you scroll down the page, you will see that you also have the option to Whitelist (allow) or Blacklist (disallow) emails from specific email addresses. Simply follow the directions and you’ll be able to limit the spam and phising that arrive at your mailbox. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to completely eliminate it.
