Law Library and Technology Center
Welcome to the Law Library and Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Shepard Broad Law Center and invite you to utilize the extensive resources and engage in the many learning opportunities here at the LLTC. We strive to meet the information and technology needs of the NSU Law Center students, faculty, and staff.
Our collection is housed on three floors in a 43,000 square foot facility. The first floor serves as a Federal and United Nations selective Depository and contains our international collection as well as the International Programs Offices and ILSA Journal. The second floor contains Study Guides, Reserves, Faculty Reserve, Tax collection, Reference, Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, and our Federal, State, and Treatise collections. The third floor offers an extensive periodical collection, the Burris Collection, admiralty materials, and the offices of the Nova Law Review. The law library continually adds new resources to its print and electronic collections. Copiers are located on all floors, and printers are located on the second and third floors.
Law Students: The law library is the essential place for you to research, study, congregate, learn, and access technology to aid in your legal studies. We encourage you to develop your research skills using the 330,000 volume/volume equivalents and multiple databases maintained by the Law Library. Study rooms are available for use by individuals and groups. Law students may use our wireless network services to access our electronic resources. We invite you to stay current with legal and technology news through our blog, find us on Facebook, and consult with our law librarians to learn about emerging technologies in the legal field. Our law librarians and technology staff are dedicated to assisting you with your legal research and networking needs. We offer individualized research instruction, research support for student organizations and law journals, and classroom instruction. We encourage you to make suggestions regarding new programs and services.
Law Faculty: Our collection is here to support your research interests and instructional needs. Through the law library’s faculty liaison program, law librarians are available to assist you with legal scholarship, classroom instruction, acquisition of materials, technology tutorials, and locating requested items. The law library’s inter-library loan department can assist you in obtaining materials at other libraries. We offer services to NSU faculty from all schools within the University.
The law library has been designated as a selective federal depository library and a full depository library for United Nations English language documents. Members of the public may access depository materials, as well as our print and online Shepard’s Citations Service, form books, print materials and other resources. We are not able to offer legal advice and do not carry ready-to-go forms. We also offer services to Law Center alums, University patrons, and attorneys in South Florida.
We look forward to working with you. Please contact me if you have any questions about the Law Library and Technology Center at 954.262.6211 or e-mail hudsonr@nsu.law.nova.edu.
