Institutional Overview
The oldest university in Central Europe, Universitas Carolina Pragensis was founded in 1348 by the Czech King and Roman Emperor Charles IV. Pursuant to the papal bull of Pope Clement VI issued in 1347, the law faculty was one of the original four granted the right to confer degrees. Charles University enjoys an international reputation for high quality teaching and research and is considered the premier university in Central Europe.
