John Sanchez became a full-time member of the faculty in 1988. He was promoted to Full Professor with tenure in 1992. His current teaching focus is on Remedies, Employment Law and the First Amendment. He also teaches Masters of Employment Law and Masters of Health Law online courses--Hiring & Firing, Medicare and Medicaid, and Employment Discrimination.

Most of his scholarship has been in the area of Employment Law. He is the author of a two-volume treatise, State & Local Government Employment Liability, which he updates annually. For many years, he published an annual survey of Florida Employment Law in the Nova Law Review. He has been published in the DePaul Law Review, University of Missour-Kansas City Law Review, Mercer Law Review, John Marshall Law Review, FIU Law Review, Western State Law Review, the Legal Studies Forum, among others. He has published two BarCharts on Employment Law and on Immigration Law.

Before joining the law center, he practiced law for a few years before turning to teaching full time. He has taught at Fullerton State University, Long Beach State University, and Western State Law School, all in California.
