Adjunct Professor Porth has been working as an Assistant State Attorney for the Office of the State Attorney in Broward County since September 1995.
In 2004, he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives and has been re-elected 3 times subsequently. In the Legislature, Rep. Porth has been serving the residents of Coral Springs, Tamarac, Lauderhill, Sunrise and North Lauderhill.
Porth has affiliations with the Broward Bar Association, Children's Home Society, Associated Marine Institutes, B'nai B'rith, and Legal Aid. In 2010, Porth was appointed to the Florida Innocence Commission. He previously served as chairman of the Broward Legislative Delegation.
Porths work in the Legislature has been recognized by organizations across the state including Legal Aid, the Florida Association of School Social Workers, Broward County Advisory Board for Individuals with Disabilities, PTA, the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association and the Partnership to end Homelessness.
Adjunct Professor Porth was elected as a Circuit Court Judge on April 20th without opposition and will be sworn in in January 2013.
