The Southeastern Association of Law Schools (SEALS), a regional association of law schools, hosts an annual meeting that is held in late July or early August. The 2005 meeting will be held at the Marriott Oceanfront Beach and Golf Resort on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, from July 17 through July 23 (phone: 843-686-8400). The 2006 meeting will be held at The Breakers, in Palm Beach, Florida, from July 16 through July 22. Please see the Links page for more information about these.

Faculty members who are planning to attend SEALS, but who do not yet have a reservation, should act very quickly. The SEALS rate at the Marriott ($147 per night) is excellent for an oceanfront property. If the Marriott is unavailable, alternate suggestions are the Hilton Oceanfront, which is right next door to the Marriott (843-842-8000), and Palmetto Dunes (800-276-7415). More popularly priced alternatives (but off-ocean) in the area include the Residence Inn (843-686 5700) and the Fairfield Inn (843-842-4800).
